American School, London
A brand new Arts and Pool Block were constructed in 2016 at the American School, St Johns Wood with T.G.Baker (Sound) employed to carry out the extensive redevelopment works to the sound system in accordance with a stringent client brief.
The existing networked PA system was extended with a new designated PA rack installed within each new school building using Baldwin Boxall Vigil 2 equipment.
New paging zones were created within the buildings to enable targeted live and pre-recorded announcements into specific areas of the school. Due to the difficult acoustic conditions within the new pool area, an EASE model was produced using a pair of weather-proof Tannoy passive column array loudspeakers. A simple mixer with music source and two local radio microphone system were installed for regular gala meeting announcements and commentaries.
James Gillespie’s High School, Edinburgh
The James Gillespie’s High School project itself was built in phases to offer separate buildings for general teaching, sports and performing arts. The Grade A listed building sits on the grounds of Bruntsfield House, Edinburgh. This historic building has been refurbished as part of the project so the school can continue to use it.
T.G.Baker (Sound) installed public address/period change systems throughout the school buildings as well as a performance sound system for the dance studio, induction loops in the theatre and reception area and a wireless clock system synchronised with the period change system. The school serves over 1,150 pupils as well as staff, and all these systems are vital for them to progress.
Boroughmuir High School
Boroughmuir High School in Edinburgh is sited next to the Union Canal, Fountain bridge. T.G.Baker (Sound) were tasked with installing public address/period change, portable sound, induction loop and wireless clock systems.
The public address/period change systems were installed throughout the school while the induction loop systems serve the assembly hall and reception. Our wireless clock system is synchronised with the period change system.
